“Queercus Club” derives its name from “Quercus”, the scientific name for “oak”. Oaks are among the strongest and most resilient trees on earth — qualities that reflect the resilience and strength of the queer community. The club celebrates this connection, fostering a deeper relationship with the natural world and with each other.

Founded by Larkfir Conservation Services in 2024, the Queercus Club blends over a decade of ecological expertise with a passion for inclusive education. Through engaging, nature-based programs, it creates welcoming spaces for people of all identities to explore local ecology, share experiences, and build community rooted in both diversity and stewardship.
